Dropshipping is a business opportunity that is a derivative of
wholesaling. Instead of buying products in bulk at a wholesale
price, and then reselling them at a retail price using the buy
low, sell high technique. Through dropshipping you can instead
act as a middleman/woman simply by selling the
dropshippers'
product at a price above their wholesale price. You then put in
an order to the dropshipper and they will ship the product to
your customer with your address on the package making it look as
if you mailed it yourself.
You are happy because you get to keep the difference between the
wholesalers' price and your price, and the wholesaler/dropshipper
is happy because you help them get their products off their
warehouse shelves at a profit. Remember that they probably bought
the product directly from the factory that produced it and thus
got it at the cheapest price possible. So, they can afford to
bump up the price to something significantly below retail so both
you and they can make a profit.

As you may have guessed, the internet is the perfect arena to
sell products through dropshipping! In fact many stores that you
may visit to shop at online offer either all their products or a
portion of their products for sale through dropshipping.
If you don't have your own website then don't worry about it!
There are a few ways that you can be successful even without your
own website. First, you can simply sell the items on eBay or any
other major auction site. Second, you can start your own mail order
type business. Kinko's or your local printing/copy shop should be
able to help you create your own catalog. The catalog can run in
the same manner that an internet website can. The buyer puts in an
order to you through the phone, mail, or maybe even email. You
could design your catalog by picking out the details you like the
most from catalogs that get delivered to your home.
